Phosphorus Pentoxide in Organic Synthesis XXXII: A New Synthesis of Quipazine and Its N‐Methyl Derivatives

2‐(4‐Methyl‐1‐piperazinyl)quinolines 1 were prepared by heating acetanilides and ‐dialkylformamides with a mixture of PO and ‐methylpiperazine at 250°. Quipazine was obtained by degradation of to ‐cyano‐′‐(2‐quinolyl)piperazine () and hydrolysis in sulfuric acid. 2‐(4‐Methyl‐1‐piperazinyl)‐chinoline wurden durch Erhitzen von Acetaniliden und N,N‐Dialkyl‐formamiden mit einer Mischung von PO und N‐Methyl‐piperazin bei 250° dargestellt. Quipazine wurde durch ‐Abbau von zu N‐Cyan‐N′‐(2‐chinolyl)‐piperazin () erhalten, von Hydrolyse in Schwefelsäure gefolgt.
