Three-Component Green Reaction of Arylaldehydes, 6-Amino-1,3- Dimethyluracil and Active Methylene Compounds Catalyzed by Zr(HSO4)4 Under Solvent-Free Conditions
A convenient one-pot, three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 6-amino-1,3-dimethyluracil and active methylene compounds in the presence of Zr(HSO4)4 as a heterogeneous catalyst, under solvent-free conditions brings a very simple and highly efficient method for the preparation
of pyrimido[4,5-b]quinolines, pyrimido[5',4':5,6]pyrido[2,3- d]pyrimidines, indeno[2',1':5,6]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines and a new class of pyrimidinedione derivatives in excellent yields. This approach is general and provides several advantages such as simple reaction set-up,
very mild reaction conditions, high yields, recyclability of the catalyst and environmentally friendly benign.

- Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening publishes full length original research articles and reviews describing various topics in combinatorial chemistry (e.g. small molecules, peptide, nucleic acid or phage display libraries) and/or high throughput screening (e.g. developmental, practical or theoretical). Ancillary subjects of key importance, such as robotics and informatics, will also be covered by the journal. In these respective subject areas, Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening is intended to function as the most comprehensive and up-to-date medium available. The journal should be of value to individuals engaged in the process of drug discoveryand development, in the settings of industry, academia or government.
