Firstly, a definition of the psychological wellbeing considering intrapsychic, cognitive, genetical, relational, socio-environmental, chemical, nutritional and emotional aspects has been given. One of the most important stages, to reach own psychological wellbeing, is to get to know ourself. The aim of this study was to analyse a group of athletes (males and females, 15 to 21 years old) focusing on the antagonistic discipline of athletics, of running in particular, which could frequently be at risk at developing stress pathologies. The athletic preparation from a technical perspective, a formation linked to nutritional processes and also a psychological formation was analysed to gain self-knowledge and to the acquisition of relaxation techniques and instruments in order to manage and overcome both pre-race and post-race stress, and proposing to athletes a course of autogenic training. The self-evaluation test of the psychophysical state has highlighted how the athletes demonstrated in positive ways some attitudes but were lacking in others.
