A Conceptual Framework for Assessing Malaysia’s Water, Energy and Food (WEF) Security Nexus
Water, energy, and food or otherwise known as the WEF are very important resources for humanity’s continued survival. The WEF security nexus has been gaining interest around the globe and a number of conceptual frameworks regarding the WEF security nexus have been proposed. However, none has ever been proposed for an emerging economy like Malaysia. This study proposed a conceptual framework for measuring Malaysia’s WEF security nexus by critically analysing existing frameworks, investigating the definitions of resource securities, and reviewing the water, energy, and food status in Malaysia.
