Developing and Testing of Open Educational Resources by Utilising Freeware and Open-Source Based on Technological Instructional Design Content Knowledge

Currently, the education field is still riding on the momentum of e-learning. E-learning provides endless possibilities for teachers, researchers and even students to explore. However, very little research has been done on the contribution of freeware and open-source learning toward education, moreover in the development of education resources in aiding students’ preparation before they enter class. In this paper, a new and modified representation of teachers’ knowledge is introduced to recognise the contribution of teachers in developing education resources along with the evaluation of its effectiveness in improving students’ achievement. This research uses pre-test/post-test experimental design. A total of 387 volunteer secondary school samples were involved in this research. The statistical test result showed that the there was significant change in test scores between control groups and experimental group.
