Perspective of Adult Learners on Attitude and Integrity in Peer Assessment
Peer assessment offers new experiences in students’ development but educators have given less attention to this assessment compared to other assessments. Therefore, this study was undertaken to identify students’ attitude and integrity during peer assessment, taking into account their demographic factor. A quantitative descriptive research was employed using questionnaires; involved 85 postgraduate students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). After the data screening process, 10 outliers were removed and the remaining 75 completed questionnaires were analysed. The result shows that students have a positive attitude towards the validity of peer assessment. Students acted professionally and undergoing peer assessment with high integrity. This study implies that the opportunity to be assessed by peers and the exposure to the importance of this assessment would enhance students’ thinking level; and they would be trained to think critical in looking at teaching and learning process.
