Group decision making with multiplicity of choices is needed to strengthen by the consensus requirement in order to reach high consensus process in group decision making. However, to overcome the possibilities in uncertainty for different group of opinions from the decision makers, the concept of interval type-2 fuzzy sets are adopted. The interval type-2 fuzzy set theory is known for its capable in handling the means and minimize the effect of uncertainty in the form of interval set. Besides, the study introduces the concept of computational of distances using Jaccard similarity measures in the term of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. A decision deviation and threshold value is used to obtain the consensus value for the decision makers. The feasibility of the consensus approach is demonstrated by investigating the coastal erosion decision problems.
