Modification of Economic Psychological Model in Profiling Graduates for Entrepreneurial Intentions

Employability is a big issue for Malaysian. It is actually even more for the graduates. At present the country has unemployment rate of 3.4% amounting 514,000 unemployed people. Various initiatives have been carried out to pin down the issues and one of them was by promoting entrepreneurship development with the purpose of increasing the formation of entrepreneurs among graduates by creating job opportunities by themselves as well for other people. However, the Malaysian government’s plan and the increased entrepreneurial courses did not succeed. Understanding an individual’s intention could help in forecasting whether a behavior will be performed or otherwise. Without intention, individual might not even have the thought to consider entrepreneurship as their career choice and they might end up with unemployed or being employed. The main objective of this paper is to develop and empirically test on modification of an economic psychological model of the determinants of entrepreneurial intentions their business. Thus; this has prompted the researchers to examine the entrepreneurial intention among graduates by using the Modification of Economic Psychological Model in Profiling Graduates for Entrepreneurial intentions.
