Synthesis and Optical Properties of [email protected]2 Core Shell Nanoparticles

Core shell nanoparticles (NPs) of [email protected]2 have been prepared by using wet chemical method. Crystal structure, phase and morphology as found from X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) shows that the size of core CdSe is of the order of 7 nm having hexagonal phase and the size of [email protected]2 core shell is around 9 nm. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) shows various chemical groups attached to bare CdSe and silanol groups attached to [email protected]2 core shell NPs. The optical studies carried out by using UV-Vis and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy shows intense peak with symmetry. Blue shift of 319 nm is found as compared to the bulk counterparts for bare CdSe from PL spectrum.
