Forensics Analysis of Corporate and Personal Information Remaining on Hard Disk Drives Sold on the Secondhand Market in Indonesia
With the continuous growth in the use of computers in all aspects of our lives, this has also led to increased use of these computers both in the work environment and for personal data. This research paper aimed to analyze using digital forensics techniques the information that remains on computer hard disks offered for sale on the second hand market in Indonesia to find sensitive personal and confidential corporate information. Hard disk images will be first acquired, validated then the disk images went a series of information extraction and analysis before final report was created. We presented the analysis results and suggest some recommendation on how prevent information leakage from hard disks of the computer.
