Free Content Subclavian Steal Phenomenon Diagnosed Using TOF and Ferumoxytol-Enhanced Neck MRA: A Technical Report

Ferumoxytol, an ultra-small superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle, is an increasingly popular alternative to gadolinium-based contrast agents for vascular MR imaging in patients with renal failure and a contraindication to gadolinium. In this technical report, complementary MRA techniques using noncontrast TOF and ferumoxytol-enhanced angiography aided in the diagnosis of subclavian steal phenomenon in a patient in whom gadolinium was contraindicated due to renal failure.
