Open Access Reasons for Applying to Computer Education and Instructional Technology Departments in Turkey: Student Opinion and Career Plans

The Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) was established under Faculties of Education with the aim of preparing computer teachers in Turkey. Computer teachers are responsible for both the teaching of technology to other teachers in addition to school students. This study was conducted in order to determine the reasons why students apply to CEIT and their views on CEIT and the profession, and to investigate their career plans.

  • (CTER) publishes refereed articles that examine research and research-related topics in vocational/career and technical education, career development, human resource development, career issues in the schools (Grades K-12), postsecondary education, adult and lifelong learning, and workforce education. CTER will consider for publication papers initially presented at conferences, including those disseminated through conference proceedings.
