Employability Skills Assessment: Measuring Work Ethic for Research and Learning
The Employability Skills Assessment (ESA) was developed by Hill (1995) to provide an alternative measure of work ethic needed for success in employment. This study tested goodness-of-fit for a model used to interpret ESA results. The model had three factors: interpersonal skills, initiative,
and dependability. Confirmatory factor analysis results demonstrated a significant overall relation between the ESA factors and showed that the three-factor model of the ESA was acceptable for the observed data. Potential applications for the ESA are also described.
