The overall mission of GLIS is to encourage the appropriate use of surveying and mapping technologies in the development and use of geographic and land information systems. In line with this mission, we work to promote communication between GIS and surveying professionals, work to increase educational programs in the geospatial industry, provide a forum for communication and coordination between GIS and surveying professionals and foster cooperation amongst GIS and surveying organizations at all levels (local, regional and national).
