Synthesis and In Vitro/In Vivo Evaluation of Gd-Complex Utilizing Dendritic Ligands as a Magnetic Resonance Contrast Agent
We demonstrate a dendritic Gd(III)-DTPA derivative [Gd-DTPA-tris(2-aminoethyl)amine-D2-4Glc(OH)], containing glycoside moieties, for magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents. In vitro relaxometry and in vivo MRI studies show that the novel Gd complex can be a potential
candidate for a contrast agent because of the enhanced relaxivity and tissue-selectivity, compared to the Gd(III)-DTPA complex. Thus, we envision that the dendritic modification, employed in this work, provides insight into the design of a promising candidate for novel medical contrast agents.
