This paper proposes a novel method to find fuzzy optimal solution for Fuzzy Transportation Problem. The fundamental entities to describe a transportation problem are supply, demand and cost. In the fuzzy environment we assume these to be triangular fuzzy numbers. The solution procedure is illustrated through numerical example. The use of ranking function in the solution procedure is a fresh and efficient approach.
