Open Access Ultrasonic Attenuation in Lanthanum Monochalcogenides from 5 K to 500 K

Download Article:
Ultrasonic attenuation studies have been made theoretically due to electron-phonon interaction between 5 K to 80 K and due to phonon-phonon interaction between 100 K to 500 K. The compounds studied are LaS, LaSe and LaTe, which are intermetallics. The appropriate potential suitable for studying physical properties of metals, the Morse potential, has been used to evaluate SOEC and TOEC. Mason's approach for evaluation of ultrasonic attenuation from the Grüneisen numbers are obtained using SOEC and TOEC. The results are interesting and have been discussed.
