Free Content Revision of the Flounder Genus Ancylopsetta (Heterosomata: Bothidae) with Descriptions of Two New Species from the Antilles and the Caribbean Sea

Ancylopsetta antillarum and A. microctenus are described as new species of flatfishes. A diagnosis, brief description, relationships, range, and illustration are provided for each species of Ancylopsetta and the monotypic Gastropsetta. The two new species are distinguished from the other five Ancylopsetta by the relative length of the first 5 dorsal-fin rays (first 2 rays short, next 2 or 3 elongate) and from each other by the degree of development of ctenii on the scales of the ocular side. Known ranges are extended for A. cycloidea, A. dilecta, A. kumperae, and Gastropsetta frontalis. A key is included for identifying the species of Ancylopsetta and Gastropsetta.
