Cave Entry by Schools and Associated Pigmentary Changes of the Marine Clupeid, Jenkinsia
The presence of Jenkinsia schools within caves in coral reefs is reported. The role of the pineal organ in control of melanophores and its relation to cave and open water habitats is discussed. Also considered are the involvements of school composition, reproductIon, food, and relations to other cave inhabitants.
