The Seasonal Cycle of Scyphozoa and Cubozoa in Georgia Estuaries

The seasonal cycle of jellyfish in the estuaries of Georgia is described from bimonthly plankton samples. These data are supplemented, when possible, by information from other collections or sources. Two species of Cubozoa and five species of Scyphozoa are reported. The summer dominants are Stomolophus and Chiropsalmus while Cyanea and Rhopilema may dominate in winter. All species present in Georgia are also found in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
