Bionectria vesiculosa sp. nov. from Yunnan, China
A new species of Bionectria on decaying leaves is described from Xishuangbanna in southwestern China. It is distinctive in the brown perithecia, laterally collapsing when dry, a ring of large vesicular cells surrounding the subapical region of the perithecia, clavate asci with
an apical ring, and fusiform, smooth-walled ascospores. Morphology and sequence analysis of ITS and 28S nrDNA support its taxonomic position as a new species in Bionectria.
