The Right to Education

The right to education is a fundamental human right. True equality in access to a quality education has never been incorporated into our society. It has been substituted with “equal opportunity”. Such a society is by definition anti-democratic. However the history of the struggles for democratization in education, with a view to promoting systematic means intended to reduce inequalities, was not always missing. The reactionary offensive comes naturally with a unilateral definition of the objective of education: produce humans “instrumental” for the functioning of the system. Excellence is here synonymous with the achievement of excellence in disaster!
