Le « roman » de Rolin est un bel exemple du dispositif nominaliste, du pouvoir de condensation des noms propres. Si ce dispositif impose un certain ordre au texte, il expose surtout ce qui tranche sur l'ordre à la fois nominal et spatial de la ville. Nous nommerons ici « travail de l'urbain » l'incessant mouvement du sujet textuel qu'appelle ce dispositif.
