ASC 1999 to 2001: A Personal Account
This paper provides a personal account of the activities of the American Society for Cybernetics from 1999 to 2001, from the perspective of the President of the Society for that period. As such it makes no claim of completeness nor does it offer a wider context for what transpired and
thus may have influenced the society over that period. The paper concludes with some reflections on the role of conversation in the ongoing evolution of the society.
