Open Access A High Performance Pocket-size System for Evaluations in Acoustic Signal Processing

Acoustic signal processing algorithms can easier be developed and more reliably be judged if they are tested in real time and in a realistic environment. A wearable signal processor system is described which eases this task, by its speed and flexibility. A 100-MHz-DSP is combined with high quality A/D- and D/A-converters (signal/noise-ratio 88 dB). A versatile software package enables the user to exhaust parallelism in the DSP with only few programming effort. The system can be worn in a pocket (150×80×25 mm3). Now it is offered to the scientific community.
