Hypersound Velocity in Water-Ethanol Mixtures
The hypersound velocity in water-ethanol mixtures has been measured by BRILLOUIN scattering at 20 °C. At almost all concentrations the differences between hypersound and ultrasound velocity were within the experimental error. It was only at about 40 percent by weight alcohol that
weak positive dispersion (≦ 1%) was observed.
