Large Scale Noise Surveys: An Educational Experiment

Students of the Open University taking the Foundation Course in Technology, 1972 — 1975, will study noise as part of their course. This paper describes how the multi-media educational system at the Open University, including correspondence texts, home experiments, the student computer service, summer schools and the computer marked assignment procedure, allow the conduct of several large surveys of noise.
