Open Access The Transitional Sounds of the German Language as Link Elements for a Speech Synthesis

In this report a speech synthesis method is proposed which uses single phonemes and combinations of phonemes with transitional sounds as speech elements. For this purpose, three transitional sounds are required as well as speech elements totalling approximately 250. In addition, it was ascertained that the reduction of long vowels and also various repetitions of short vowels change the character of these vowels. Thus, the duration of a sound affects its interpretation.
