New method for the calculation of the reverberation time of halls for public assembly
The reverberation time of a concert hall without deliberately added absorption can be calculated with the aid of Sabine's law by putting the total absorption of the hall equal to αeq
S
T, where αeq is a frequency-dependent constant
and S
T the area occupied by audience and orchestra. The method might be applicable to public assembly halls in general.
