Acoustic power and sound pressure levels may easily be converted into one another. The conversion is conveniently illustrated by plotting a difference curve. The difference depends upon the measuring distance and the acoustic absorptivity of the test room. Possible error in the conversion caused by the idealized assumptions is certainly smaller than the error of measurement, if measurements are made in different rooms or if the results are to be transferred into other rooms. It is therefore recommended to measure and report the acoustic power level, if it is desired to transfer the results into other rooms or to other measuring distances.
