Bi2S3 quantum dots sensitized anatase {001} TiO2 nanosheets were prepared via a simple solvothermal synthesis method and evaluated by the reduction of CO2 in isopropanol. The as prepared photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, HRTEM, UV-vis DRS and XPS, respectively. The Bi2S3 quantum dots with a size of ˜5 nm were uniformly deposited on the surface of anatase TiO2 nanosheets. The obtained catalysts successfully reduced CO2 to methanol and the highest yield was 1169.15 μmol/g/h which was 6.4 times as large as pure anatase {001} TiO2. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was due to the excellent charge separation between Bi2S3 quantum dots and TiO2 nanosheets together with the synergistic effect between {001} and {101} facets of anntase TiO2 nanosheets.
