Analytical Theory of Persistent Currents in Mesoscopic Rings
We apply a two-level approach to find an analytical expression for the shape of persistent current oscillations in an one-dimensional mesoscopic ring with a fixed number of electrons at low temperatures. The derived formula has a closed form convenient for further calculations. We use it to obtain the temperature dependence of the persistent current amplitude and to study the orbital magnetic phase transitions.
