The role of editorial advisory boards
Experience as an editor, and serving on the editorial boards of numerous journals, has resulted over time in many people inquiring into the role and function of these bodies. Having attempted an explanation of the role of peer reviewing (Baker 2008) and being actively engaged in restructuring the Editorial Board of the Journal of Customer Behaviour, it seemed that some views on this topic would be useful for those who might be approached to join an editorial board as well as being of interest to those currently serving in this capacity as a point of reference.
