Digestion Pretreatment - Gas and VS Destruction and Cake Quality
Over the pasxt decade, we have investigated a number of anaerobic digestion pretreatment methods to determine the impact on solids reduction and odors. These include thermal hydrolysis, sonication and mechanical shear. Much of this research is avaialble in the published literature.
However, a summary of the experience with these methods and technologies has not been compiled. In this paper, a summary of our experience with laboratury and full-scale studies of pretreatment technologies is provided.
