Abstract:

Small municipalities are often burdened by meeting the same environmental permit limits as large cities, but with a significantly smaller budget to work with. It is advantageous to have economical solutions to meet the needs of these smaller communities that may not be able to afford a fully mechanical, regularly staffed treatment plant. A technology called the Decanted Bio-Balanced Reactor™ has been developed in order to meet these objectives, and has proven to have flexibility in design to meet most small communities' needs, while reusing pre-existing infrastructure. This technology has the added benefit of delivering advanced treatment, such as biological nutrient removal.
