Abstract:

Stop the Rain Drain (SRD) is a public education program sponsored by Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The program website is: stopraindrain.org. SRD uses community-based marketing to promote polluted runoff reduction by redirecting downspouts away from impervious surfaces to lawn or garden areas where stormwater may infiltrate. Because of its ostensible simplicity, downspout redirection was identified as a preferred behavior by CRWD in its 2009 Education Plan.
