Abstract:

A simple comparison between different digester mixing technique has been performed using commercially available computational fluid dynamic software. The basis of comparison was the ability of the system to provide the adequate mixing needed to keep solids in suspension and maintain even temperature distribution through out the tank. Simple viscosity models were used to simulate the effect of solids concentration on flow pattern in the digester.
