Due to deteriorating water and wastewater infrastructures across the United States, it is critical that utility managers and others have access to current information on condition assessment technologies and practices so that resources can be utilized most effectively. Currently, information sharing between utilities is often nonexistent. The Water Infrastructure Database (WATERiD) is an ongoing project designed to address this need. The goal of the project is to create a web-based interactive national database, where information on condition assessment technologies and management practices can be accessed and shared by utility managers and others. A thorough review of research literature, reports, technology provider information, and other information is underway. The research team is working with utilities across the nation and around the world to data mine information on their past experiences with various condition assessment technologies and management practices. The compiled information is available through WATERiD in various formats.
