Quality of Washed and compacted Screenings
Abstract:A quality ratio for screenings washing is defined as the mass of BOD or COD that can still be leached from the washed screenings per the dry solids mass in the screening. There is a German standard leaching method, but it is rather difficult and time consuming. An easier method was developed and is proposed. Results are presented comparing the performance of conventional screenings wash-presses with that of superior launder-type wash-presses.
