Abstract:

This paper provides perspectives and guidance on wastewater pumping applications and their associated energy usage and power requirements. Fundamental energy principles are examined together with operating features and practical constraints often associated with wastewater pumping facilities. Variation of flows, pump size combinations, adjustable speed drives, wet well and reservoir operating levels, storage, forcemain sizing, valving, and other considerations are discussed.
