Wayne Hill Water Resources Center have historically experienced sustained periods of poor performance with very low TSS and BOD removal rates. This paper describes a comprehensive approach developed to evaluate the performance of these units that included: evaluation of historical data and sampling locations, two special sampling events, and two-dimensional and three-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling. The paper summarizes the data collected during the field sampling events and the CFD modeling results. The impact of operational and physical modifications on primary removal are also presented and discussed.
