How To Double the Activated Sludge Plant Capacity within the Same Foot Print
Abstract:A Brazilian plant specialized in the production of cotton goods planned to increase its production in the next few years. It was expected to increase the wastewater BOD loading in 150%.
To fulfill this new reality without expanding the current wastewater treatment plant, the MBR (membrane bioreactor) technology was elected.
The plant began operating on September 29th with the implanted modifications. The alternative showed itself successful, improving the quality of the final effluent and resulting in a 40% money saving.
