Abstract:This paper will address the impacts of two major changes affecting the MBR industry: the rapid escalation of the size of MBRs being designed, and the emergence of a variety of large corporations offering membrane products for the MBR market. Specific trends can be expected, in terms of large plant design implications and developments, and in terms of membrane products marketing, sales and procurement. Based upon the author's experience with the design, construction and operation of over twenty MBRs of all sizes, this paper will attempt to identify developing trends.
