Abstract:The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has developed a Certificate Program for high-tech operators that supports employee and leadership development as well as operational optimization, two key attributes of effectively managed utilities. This presentation describes demographic changes in the workforce that affect worker retention and recruitment, and that challenge utilities to do more with less. The High-Tech Operator Certificate Program helps utilities fully leverage the promises of technology. Course content is briefly reviewed.
