The objective of this article is to share the human resource concerns prevailing at the metropolitan sewer district of greater Cincinnati (MSDGC) and throughout the industry pertaining to the aging workforce and the risks and rewards of those retiring. The presentation reveals the news as disclosed by different sources regarding strains, challenges, and impacts on public and private sectors to acknowledge that this is a global issue. The final objective is to share the action plan implemented at MSDGC to mitigate the risk and capitalize on the rewards by strengthening the succession plan.
