Cost effective solutions for treating wet weather flows have been developed and implemented at the Bethel Park Municipal Authority, Piney Fork WWTP. These solutions included the addition of storage volume underneath the trickling filter, retrofitting to the trickling filter recycling wet well, and the addition of baffles to the secondary clarifiers and the primary clarifier effluent distribution box. The goal of implementing these modifications was to increase plant treatment capacity and improve performance under wet weather conditions. Modifications have been successfully implemented and plant had performing well
