Project Prioritization and Selection
Abstract:As Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) continue to rise and take up more of the utility budget, careful and comprehensive project prioritization and selection becomes more important than ever. This paper will discuss how to set the framework for making the prioritization/selection decision, different prioritization schemes and project selection methods. This paper will focus on four important aspects of the prioritization and selection process – categorization of projects as to type and purpose, weighing multiple criteria, determining project readiness and determining when the market is ready for your project.
