Givaudan MBBR Upgrade: Before and After
Abstract:Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBRs) may be coupled with activated sludge systems as pretreatment and as a reliable control for variations in influent water quality conditions, such as BOD surges or pH drops. This combination of systems has greater buffering capacity than stand-alone activated sludge systems with equalization tanks. The combination of two aerated systems provides a hassle-free treatment operation and significant reduction in operating costs due to eliminating off-site effluent disposal.
