The original master plan called for a new sewage treatment plant to serve the planned growth with a phase-one capacity of 18 MLD at an estimated 80 to 90 million for plant and trunk sewers. Before committing to the construction of these new treatment facilities, however, the City decided to reevaluate the original plan in light of recent city wide growth strategies and advancements in treatment technologies, this time considering expanding treatment at the Greenway plant with rated capacity of 152 MLD. Ultimately, expansion solutions were “found“ at the space-constrained Greenway plant including optimization using MBR retrofit within aeration basins and converting secondary clarifiers to chemically enhanced primary clarifiers for wet weather flow treatment.", pages = "2259-2266", url = "http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/wef/wefproc/2008/00002008/00000015/art00062", doi = "doi:10.2175/193864708790893350" }
