Cutting-Edge Telemetry Project Implementation
Abstract:A detailed introduction for Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority is included then the methodology and results for the Telemetry project is developed. This Telemetry project is part of a preventive maintenance program and its main objective is to have the equipment and tools that will allow Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority to visualize from a distance and to perform tele-commands at the facilities, pumps, dams, distribution tanks and wells previously identified as critical.
The methodology developed started with a checklist with four major areas: 1. equipment and services, 2. installation and facilities preparation, 3. SCADA detailed design and 4. User and plant operator's identification.
The results for phase I was successful and included the standardized implementation of the Telemetry System in 212 island wide installations. We are finishing the deployment of 100 telemetry and control panels in filtrations plants for a total of 124. Its follows the implementation of more than one thousand more facilities.
The conclusion of testing the definite architecture and the identification of the specifications is taken in consideration in the design of the infrastructure of the rest of the installations and facilities.
